How I Help My Students Become More Independent

How I Help My Students Become More Independent

Teaching is about more than state standards and assessments. It is about genuinely preparing students for life. For me, a huge focus is on how I help my students become more independent. While learning to read and write is essential, it is also imperative students have the confidence to do things for themselves. Therefore, I embed strategies into every element… Read More

Winter Resources Round Up

Winter is often known as a “sweet spot” in education. The year has been going on long enough that students understand the expectations and routines. Additionally, teachers are able to focus on new content as students have fully adjusted from summer break. However, this area does have some tough spots. For instance, many teachers have to be flexible with snow… Read More

Here’s why⬇️ In my Emotional Regulation Impairmen Here’s why⬇️

In my Emotional Regulation Impairment classroom, this isn’t just a “part” of our day, it is a good chunk of our learning time.

Helping my students understand their feelings, regulate their emotions, and communicate their needs is at the core of everything we do.

Watching them learn to name their emotions, use strategies, and connect with others in a positive way is the most meaningful growth I get to see. These are life skills they’ll carry far beyond our classroom.

Thank goodness @especiallyeducation and @teachingspecialthinkers put their heads together to create @madeformeliteracy social skills! This bundle has changed the game for social skills instruction in my classroom!!!!

This resource has truly been the best thing to happen to my ERI classroom. It makes teaching social skills feel seamless, while still being so intentional, structured, and impactful every single day.

It’s not just teaching… it’s empowering my students with the tools they need to navigate their world ✨

9 years ago when I started this account, I never could have imagined it would grow into this… or that I’d be able to reach and help so many people along the way.

And now getting to do that through a podcast? It honestly feels surreal.

What started as sharing ideas and little moments from my classroom has turned into something so much bigger than I ever planned, and I’m so grateful you’ve been here for it.

If you’ve ever supported me, shared my content, used my resources, or even just quietly followed along… thank you. You’re the reason this even exists.vbnhvcvghyuyyytu
