Math Sorts: Sorting by Size
Many students love sorting! Whether it is erasers, blocks, or pencils, they will always find creative ways to sort items. Luckily, learning to sort by properties is a necessary skill to learn. Therefore, this set is all about sorting by size. Even better, differentiation is already done with 4 levels of difficulty! In order to help build relationships among students, all levels have the same pictures. Therefore, no students will feel left out by having different pictures to sort. However, what is different is the skill set involved.
Level 1 is the easiest by showing a big and small fire truck to indicate the sizes. The second level 2 is a bit more difficult with the words typed out: big in large letters and small in small letters. Level 3 has the words typed out in the same size. The last level 4 has no words typed out, so students will need to determine the categories. Then, in each level, students will drag items into the two categories. Students will have a blast sorting!

How many times do you hear groans when you announce it is time to work on word problems? Many times, it is due to the confusion over which operation to use in order to solve the problem.
